A Sad Day
Sunday was indeed a sad, sad day. Just over two years ago, my youngest brother, Peter, was driving my Nova to school when it caught fire. To make a long story short, the firewall didn't do it's job. The engine compartment and the interior burned. There was no real permanent damage done, so for nearly two years, I lived with the dream of undertaking the huge project of rebuilding the car.
Over the summer, I came to the painful decision that after two years and no work having been done, I probably wasn't going to get around to the car anytime soon. I had neither the time nor the money for such a huge job. With a heavy dose of grief, I decided it was time to sell my car to somebody that would give the car the love and attention it rightfully deserved.
On Sunday, I sold my Nova. The new owner intends to rebuild the car with his son. He'd been looking for a worthy Nova for about a year and a half and he was very understanding. He said he was very sorry I had to go through this but, if it was any consolation, I was making his son really happy. It was a nice touch, but I'm still sorry I had to let my car go.
